Not sure how to do this, or if its even possible.
Have a small branch office with 4 users currently using a Juniper Netscreen NS5GT to provide connectivity. They are internet connected by DSL PPPoE service controlled by the NS5GT (DSL modem is in bridge mode) which they are currently using for a SIP trunk, internet access, and a VPN to head office.
Soon, a WAN link will be installed, giving them a higher bandwidth option for access to head office, and the DSL will become their backup/redundant link.
However, I want to continue to use the DSL circuit to the SIP trunk provider, due to low latency. If the PPPoE link should go down, then use the WAN link.
I have talked to the WAN provider, and they will give precedence to specific route redistributed by OSPF. Is there a way, I can advertise a specific route by OSPF only when the PPPoE connection is up?
This will allow me to make the WAN router the default gateway for the office, and to direct SIP traffic out the NS5GT if the DSL is up, and over the WAN if its down.
I'm open to switching to different hardware, since the Juniper 5GT is End of Life. I asked the WAN provider, but they didn't seem to have a knowledge of the Juniper products. Considering I bought them from them, years ago, this was annoying. This rapidly escalated into a network redesign charge conversation, when I pressed.
So anyone know if you can only redistribute a route, into OSPF, is the PPPoE link is up?
Thanks in advance
