So I'm going to be rewiring the building with cat5e soon. The old wiring is tangled, confusingly run, impossible to trace, and its thrown all around above the drop ceiling. The install will be in a steel building, so I can walk above the drop ceiling with ease.
I've got myself some wire ties, a few patch panels, 1000ft of cat5e, and all the tools ill need. What I'm wondering is, how can I keep my cable runs off of the drop ceiling/2x4 framework and away from the old wiring (and florescent lighting)? I want my installation to be clean and manageable. If this were a data center, I guess I'd use ladder rack, but this isn't a big job and that stuff is expensive.
I was thinking about screwing these eye bolts into the 2x4s and running the cable through that, but id really like something with an open top so cables can be easily removed.
What would a pro do?
