Funny set up question regarding Netgear ProSafe FVS318G

OK this is a little weird the set-up we have is our main LAN computers and servers have a default gateway of 192.168.0.3. due to an issue with our old and needing replacing ISA server when we moved our DNS servers (DC controller as well) form 2003 to 2008 R2 our DNS began to fail (think the ISA server is actively dropping the DNS requests). The work around was to alter the default gateway of the DC controller to 192.168.0.2 (backup ADSL line). This seemed to work fine but then we were getting reports of users in our WAN complaining that certain internet based things were very slow (Go to meeting video calls).  When I started looking into this I soon discovered that anything with a default gateway of .2 seemed to be throttled to 10Mb or below when routing through our main link to and form all the offices. Now to try and stop our network traffic hitting this .2 router that's slowing us down I got a NetGear ProSafe Gibat 9 port VPN firewall FVS318G wih the intention of putting it between the .2 device so any traffic hitting that that was not destined for the internet (anything other than DNS requests from the DC controller) was routed back onto the .3 router and thus not get throttled. However I seem to be unable to get the device to work properly.

I have it set up with the address of 192.168.0.4 I've plugged the ADSL router 192.168.0.2 into its WAN port and then linked our backbone into a LAN port. the issue I am having is I can't get anythign to be routed down the WAN port of the firewall at all. setting my gateway to the firewall and traceroute send all my internet traffic to the normal route?
