Let's tell you the full story.
I have three desk in the office where people have two computer, one for internal work and second one for guest access (internet browsing only). Those three desks only have 1 network connection available (CAT.6 and not possible to route a second wire). They actually have a 25$ gigabit Linksys 4 ports switch to split up the network connection.
On the top of my network I have a HP ProCurve 3500YL manageable switch. I want to know if it's possible to create two VLAN on specific ports on the switch, the first VLAN for the local network access (computer #1) and second VLAN for guest browsing (computer #2)?
Second, is it possible to split "VLAN-ed" network port with a dumb switch and the end?
BTW, I have a few VLAN experiences on Nortel PoE switches for telephony where the IP phone do the final split up between telephony VLAN and internal network VLAN.
