I just installed a ruckus wireless controller and a few access points in 2 of our buildings.
The idea then was to create 2 wireless networks on VLANS. First an OFFICE VLAN which would allow say my laptop or tablet to still access whatever on the network just as I was hardlined. Second a GUEST VLAN that I could allow vendors, guests, employees using thier smartphones. The reason for the 2 was to allow only internet access for the guest vlan. I felt this would be a good security feature as I would have less control on the history of the devices that would connect to this network. The problem though is that if I get my email through my cell phone and I am on the guest wireless network it doesn't work. It won't access the email unless I turn wifi off on the phone then the emails come flying in. Is there anyway to tweak this Vlan setup to allow only internet access and exchange email with out any other access to the network and devices on the network?
