I am considering some changes to my network topology.
Tell me if this is supid or not
3 locations, all connected by fiber
currently, each location is its own /24 subnet. It includes clients, printers, and servers at each location.
for example, site 1, is a /24 network, has printers, servers and clients
site 2 is a /24 network, has printers, servers and clients
and site 3 is a /24 network, has printers, servers and clients.
i am thinking about redesigning it and taking the servers off the user subnets, and creating a subnet of their own. It would be one /24 subnet for the servers.... traversing the fiber links between the buildings.
is that a decent design, or is that bad juju?
