One of our production servers has been having issues as of late with connectivity. From time to time it will come to a crawl making its contents inaccessible to employees. What type of test do you run to examine a switch and Ethernet ports? The server will allow you to connect remotely but when trying to save or even open the share from a client pc it crawls then eventually stops. It seems to happen more often during backups but I can't find a culprit for the issue. Viewing the network performance isn't giving me any clues because it is showing no activity out of the ordinary.
