i have a business that is wanting me to install a file server for them. The network consists of 5 windows 7 computers connected via a cisco asa5505 and a cable modem. I am assuming the asa is running dhcp to assign IP's. They are running as a workgroup.
They are want me to install a windows 2008 server to run their accounting software as well as a file server. My options are to leave the network as is, drop in the configured file server, and be done. or, I can convert the network to a domain.
This company has no IT staff so I want to minimize administration. I have never used a peer to peer network so Im not sure if this is the best route or not. What would you do in this case?
