I have been having some issues with intermittent 3 to 5 sec connectivity issues with some of the mapped drives on a couple of my servers, which are plugged into my pro curve switch, so needless to say i wanted to try to login to the switch to see if there were any issues. Pretty straight forward right? Well not for me, since there was no record of what IP this switch had, so I have tried just about everything from trying to find the mac in dhcp, on our firewall, through nslookup, tried a few network scanning tools, even looked in spiceworks, which was the first thing i did. I even went through every ip address manually in the browser, still no luck.
The switch doesn't even have the mac address on the exterior, just the serial number.
