I've never really thought of it before now, but today we had an incident where the network bombed, and after spending several minutes thinking it was VMware causing the problem (oh ye of little faith), we decided to reboot our networking equipment.
we have a jumbled mess of networking, Cisco 5510, 2900, catalyst 3750, and several dell 2824's. We didn't take the time to restart them one at a time, so we don't know which was the problem, however rebooting fixed whatever it was.
QUESTION: Do you schedule reboots for your switches and routers? and if so how often? Thoughts?
