We currently have two Sonicwall NSA240 setup with HA, they preform various tasks in our network, minimal Layer 3 routing, they serve as the DHCP server, as well as the VPN gateway. We currently have a T1 and a cable 100/10 line, unfortunatly the cable provider in our area does not provide a service with higher upload speeds, at our company we often stream video and find that the upload bandwidth gets used up quickly, we will most likely be upgrading to some sort of metro ethernet 100/100 or 50/50. With the current sonicwalls we have turning on gateway antivirus and gateway antispam causes the throughput on the cable line to drop to 30/8. I have been told by the reps at sonicwall that that is normal.
What firewall's from sonicwall or from other companies should we look at ? We have been told by SonicWall that the NSA240 will be EOL and service for the 240 will not be offered past next year, they have offered us incentives in means of a buyback program if we upgrade to another sonicwall.
