So was wondering if anyone has come across this. It looks like a curious student just causing problems but i wanted to see if anyone has come across this.
Today we noticed on two of our servers that they were giving a duplicate IP error so when I went and looked in the logs I found the mac address for the device causing the issue was the same on both servers, ironically a few minutes later we had the same issue on a few teacher desktops, same issue same mac address. So assuming right away this was a student device I went and logged into our WLAN Controller and found the MAC on our wireless network. I blocked it from connecting to the WIFI and tried to track it down but by the time I got this far the user had disconnected and hasn't connected since. All of this happened within 30 minutes this morning so I know it was this one device.
Any ideas on how this user is doing this or is it simply just them putting in random IPs in there device probably trying to bypass our webfilter.
