We have 6 offices that are subnetted as so:
172.24.12.0 - Main office
172.24.13.0 - Branch office 1
172.24.14.0 - Branch office 2
172.24.15.0 - Branch office 3
172.24.16.0 - Branch office 4
172.24.17.0 - Branch office 5
At the main office we are running out of ip addresses and would like to add more addresses. Is there a way to add the 172.24.11.0 address space with a 255.255.254.0 subnet mask? Before changing a bunch of stuff in dhcp, I tried testing this with a laptop set up a static ip address 172.24.11.10 with 255.255.254.0 subnet and the default gateway of the 172.24.12.0 network thinking that would work. It gave me an error saying that the default gateway wasn't on the same subnet. If I make my ip address in the .13 network with same subnet it woks, but that will screw up the vpn connections we have since we have another office using the .13 network already. Any ideas why this isn't working?
