This client is having an issue with packet loss and intermittent slow down of internet bandwidth. Here's there current setup.
Site 1 - 75 workstations, 4 servers, 15 misc network printers/hardware, 3 Managed Gigabit swithces
Ip scheme 192.168.41.xxx subnet 255.255.255.254
Site 2 - Similar setup as site 1.
IP Scheme 192.168.40.xxx subnet 255.255.255.254
Between facilities is a Verizon Ethernet over Fiber - 50mbps
Since this connection doesn't require routing between sites, we just have each end plugged into the main switch at each site. The 255.255.255.254 subnet allows every system to essentially be on the same Lan.
Gateway is a Adtran enterpise router with a 30mbps Ethernet over Fiber connection to their ISP - ip address 192.168.40.2
It is the gateway for all endpoints.
For the most part this works just fine, however it's been slowing down from time to time and getting high latency and packet loss. I'm assuming it's a bad router because the ISP has tested everything on their end. I've swapped the router with a backup of the same model and same issue is ocurring.
I would like to possibly swap that router out with another that can support:
256 clients or more
We have a 8 public ip addresses that need to be routed internally (small business routers that only allow you to program a single static ip for the WAN will not work)
VLAN Support on the Lan side or ability to give the Lan ports multiple IP Addresses
Any recommendations?
