Good morning, Spiceheads.
This should be pretty simple to answer for everyone here except me. I have a Cisco Small Business RV180-K9-NA VPN 4-Port Router and a Netgear JGS524 ProSafe 24-Port Gigabit Switch.
My question is this. Is there a way to take advantage of more than one LAN port (4 total) of the router for the switch uplink? Think of it like teaming the switch and router with two or more ports.
The reason I ask is because I host LAN parties at my home frequently, and internet bandwidth becomes a problem real quick. I don't think it's necessarily a problem with the ISP service getting bogged down, though. I think it's the one uplink interface of the router getting pummeled by 10+ users from the switch.
Currently, port 24 of the switch is plugged into port 1 of the router. It would be nice if I could utilize more of those router ports for teaming, if that's even possible.
Thoughts? Best practices here? Thanks all.
