The client has a modem in their network and has about 40 users who are uploading and downloading lots of video and graphic material. They are interactive media company. The cable run which is coaxial RG6 is a home run from the IDF to customer premise. Their is no Vlans only one main 24 port Cisco switch and 8 Cisco 200 series 8 port smart switches. They want to extend this run only by 20 feet or so which is not my concern as much. However they prefer that I not run a new line but to make use of barrel connector. I have concerns with all that data packets traversing on there network with drop packets or other issues with data packets getting lose.I don't see ingress interference being a issue. Is my concern legitimate and if so? I know and understand about loss signal in with transmission of radio signals but how if it the same as in a network and would it change with frequency and to what degree?
