Hello,
I am very confused, I might be over thinking the ACTUAL issue here, but is it possible for one computer to kill the traffic on the network? Now, I know this seems ridiculous, but we've had the last 2 days issues with computers staying on the Internet. They work, but then a computer gets turned on somewhere in the building and it will crash network access (Internet access, really, and delay printing). Now, the thing is....this is NOT just one computer. It'll be one computer one day, we disconnect it from the network and then the next day another one is doing the same thing.
I am stumped on this, I have troubleshot about everything I can think of, DNS is right, DHCP is running, and etc.. Gateway security appliance is perfectly running, and the modem to the internet connection is great as well.
Could a virus really cause this? Could someone have downloaded a virus and not realize it? We don't have virus protection as these were all new deployments, we have been testing out different antivirus for the ones we liked best.
Please help shed some light on the discussion, here. I need some answers or I'll lose my mind! :)
Thanks everyone,
Scott
