Hi @ all,

we have a Clavister SG60 with cOS Core Version: 10.11.04.04-21503 Jun 10 2013.

I tried since more than a month to inventory this device with my Spiceworks.

I want to insert it into my Spiceworks Inventory. Is there any Setting, that i must do?

I tried ssl with the correct credentials. I tried also http with the correct credentials.

I can log In to the GUI via https and port 8080. Can i scan this device with Spiceworks using https?

Thanks for any idea.

Can't turn on PXE boot (realtek boot agent won't save changes)

Hi, I have a problem, i have six identical computers and five of them allow me to use PXE boot just fine, but not the last one (mobo is P5KPL-AM IN/ROEM). All I had to do was go to BIOS and set the "LAN Option ROM" to Enabled, reboot and set it to boot from Network.

The only way I can see, how the last PC can be different is that it has two network cards (had some problems with the onboard nic a while ago... works fine now though). On that computer I can switch the Lan Option ROM to Enabled no problem, but the Boot order doesn't allow me to choose Network boot (that option doesn't exist).

It did however allow me to press Shift+F10 to access something called "Realtek PCI Express Fast Ethernet Boot Agent Configuration Menu" (now that's a mouthful). What I discovered there, was that the last computer had Boot order set to ROM Disabled....

Opening ports for spiceworks?

I just built 3 machines from the same image and 2 never made the inventory

I followed the steps on KB Article# 22635 tgroup policy firewall settings, this is after mosts systems already set themselves up...

On the device (win7 laptop) sbs 2008 R1 server the ports on the laptop doesn't appear to be open, (ssh22, 80http,, 5060sip, 5800vnc, 9100jetdirect, 16992vpro, 17988ilo)

Any way I can push these ports open from group policy or something to all new laptops so they get hit by spiceworks?

Internet Edge Design for a small-medium start-up with 200 employees

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask for help on a network design that I have for a small company of 200 employees. Current network is as expected from start-up, changes need to be made to accommodate bigger business requirements. The company is thinking of doing some sort of upgrade for their single-site network, but since it's a small firm, it has limited budget (who hasn't have limited budget these days?).

The company has 2 internet connection from 2 different ISPs that they plan to use, for the proposed network upgrade. The users will use these ISPs for access outside. There are several requirements for this proposed new network.

- web filtering, block specific sites
- firewall
- ipsec site-to-site vpn
- qos
- policy-based routing

Will this design below suffice the requirements? I was initially looking at Cisco ASA as the edge device for...

Urgent! VAMT 2.0 Issues

Spiceheads,

Having some major troubles with a recurrence in our KMS server. My knowledge of KMS activation and Volume Activation is limited so please consider this when offering advice.

Recently, a CSVLK key was installed to a client using KMS auto-discover on VAMT 2.0. For some reason, this has lit a forest fire for our Office programs across the network.

Each machine is sending activation requests to the key management service machine BUT it's sending separate requests to every machine over the network every 5 seconds (causing applications to hang and crash). So, if I go into event viewer for a random machine on the network. It states:

"The client has sent an activation request to the key management service machine.

Network Location Awareness - My Nemesis

How do I hate thee. I would switch all of my servers to Linux in a heartbeat, if I could.

How do I manually FORCE an interface from PUBLIC (not Unidentified) to Private?

Details:

This network is a supernet /20 with a Procurve 2920 as the Core switch and gateway. I am running two domains on this subnet with 2008 servers, and am trying to attach a 2012 server to the correct domain with STATIC IP settings.

If the 2012 server is setup with DHCP, it is configured with the wrong domain suffix (company1.local) and does work properly. When I attempt to attach the server to the correct domain, the change in domain suffix to company2.local, causes the interface to be recognized as PUBLIC.

If I define the Interface as STATIC, with identical settings and manually define the domain suffix under advanced properties, the interface is still seen as PUBLIC....

Cisco Switch Power Supply and Power Sharing

Hey guys! I am currently doing a inventory of all the switch power we have. So far I have run the command "show env power all" to get a good idea of what each switch has for a power supply and if its using both power supply slots. Before I present this to my boss and request more power supply modules he asked that I get more familiar with the power sharing capabilities of the switch stacks. I don't know what is a good or bad idea for this project or how the power sharing/ failover works. As of now I was thinking that on switches that don't need PoE I can have two 350W power supplies. On switches that need PoE I was thinking I could have two 715W power supplies, but how do I know if thats enough power? Should I get the 1150W? Can a switch have too much power? Can the stack have too much power?

Windows network lost Internet connectivity, cannot ping external addresses

Windows 2008 / 2012 server environment running AD. Internet via Smoothwall proxy and BT SFBB (both of which tested and working OK).  All been working but all internet connectivity now lost.  No obvious reason behind this. Both servers report "limited connectivity" or "no internet".  Windows 2008 had been trying to install updates around time internet was lost, but history shows no updates actually deployed.

Can ping internal addresses but timed out when try to ping any external addresses (trying with both name or IP address).

Possible DNS issue occurred? Where should I start?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Identify a physical server by its IP?

We had a vendor come in and set up a super cluster, NAS, and a bunch of VM's

Problem came in, they apparently didnt keep very good notes and we now have no idea what VMs are running on what physical hosts. I know the IPs of the hosts, but I need to know for example what box in the rack is 10.160.31.200

How would I go about this? I first thought about flooding one of the hosts with data and watching for which activity light turns solid, but these are running in HA and have critical VMs on them. If I accidentally crashed one of them from the traffic it would be a nightmare my career possibly wouldn't recover from :P

Any better ideas?

Cisco 2901 w/ Switch Card - VLANs

Ok guys,

I know I have a previous thread concerning VLANs on a Cisco 2901 router.

In the previous thread, I was creating sub-interfaces on the Gi 0/0 port

This router has a switch card installed with 4 ports Gi 0/0/0, 0/0/1, 0/0/2, 0/0/3

We currently are using 0/0/0 & 0/0/2

I am testing VLANs again, and I have these currently configured.

Vlan120 10.12.0.1/24

Vlan121 10.12.1.1/24

Vlan122 10.12.2.1/24

Vlan123 10.12.3.1/24

Vlan124 10.12.4.1/24

Vlan125 10.12.5.1/24

I have a PC in Vlan121 with IP 10.12.1.2/24 and a NAS in VLAN123 with IP 10.12.3.2/24

PC can ping NAS, and browse to the NAS through IE.

My problem is, the DHCP server assigns the IP to both clients, but can only ping the NAS.

I'm just trying to figure out why I can't get a response from the PC when pinging it from the DHCP server.

I have the VLANs configured on the switches as well, along with...

Drop Events on a Dell PowerConnect 2724

I've done some digging into this before, and come up empty handed, so I'll ask here. I have a series of three PowerConnect2724's running the backbone of my network. (I also have a smattering of small 5-port switches because the building is wired like shit, but I digress.) Each of these PS2724's connects to a Sonicwall TZ205N via Port 01. (Switch A from Port1 to SW Port 1, Switch B Port 1 to SW Port 2, etc) I have noticed, over time, that the Port 1 on the switches will report drop events.

The number and frequency varies, as I stopped tracking them between reboots for a good while, but they always appear at some point. Each switch gets them on its Port 1, plus on various ports that run to the workstations. They vary, and the counters reset every power cycle. Sometimes it's on the same workstation port, sometimes a different one.

Portfast equivalent for HP Switches

Hello all,

Can someone explain to me the equivalent configuration of the following commands on Cisco switches for the HP ProCurve switches?

interface range f0/1                                                                                                spanning-tree portfast                                                                                                      end                                                                                                                              copy run start

How can you tell HP switches to ignore STP convergence on End-Client PC/Servers?

Failed payload verification after decryption; possible preshared key mismatch

Hello,

First off:  I'm new to setting up VPNs.  Second, I'm pretty sure I've got all of the address objects, preshared keys, IP addresses, etc, etc...correct.  And still, I'm receiving the above error.  I've got a green dot on both vpn connections (either device) and I can ping across the network on the device that is receiving this log entry.  The other site cannot ping back.  Please let me know if there is anymore information you need.

Secondly (only because there's a "first off"):  My brain is fried.  Thanks for your help.

Looking for Remote Access VPN solution with LDAP authentication

$

I'm looking for a Remote Access VPN solution and everything I've run into so far is either too expensive, or too complicated to setup/support.  Desired features:

1) Authenticates to LDAP, specifically MS Active Directory and able to be restricted by Group Membership

2) Provides good throughput for up to 40 concurrent users with 256-bit encryption

3) Works with Windows 8.1, 7, XP, Android, iOS, and Mac clients

4) Able to run as a VM (VMware Virtual Appliance) would be a plus

5) Two-factor authentication (Google Authenticator) capability would be a plus

6) Easy to manage

Any suggestions?

Cisco WAP4410N: How I Solved Frequent Rebooting Problem

$

I was getting quite used to my WAP4410N rebooting once or twice a day. I even thought Cisco had put a reboot timer in the code that was causing one of the reboots. I was up to date with 2.0.7.4 firmware, and had a simple single-SSID config, with all other settings at factory default.

The kicker was when I upgraded my cell phone to an iPhone 5S. With a few concurrent iTunes and / or AppStore downloads happening, the WAP4410N would reboot constantly. I found that by limiting the number of downloads to one at a time, the AP was stable. The only other regular traffic on the AP is from an iPad 2, and on rare occasions, my Latitude D830 or D620. Not exactly a demanding environment.

I noticed many other WAP4410N users having similar trouble with frequent reboots. Various setting changes were explained with seemingly no universal solution. But...

VPN and multiple subnets

$

I have a TP-link TL-R600VPN at a remote site with two users. It is connecting to a Sonicwall NSA-2400 via a site to site VPN. That is working fine and the remote site can access our local LAN subnet. I now have the need for users at the remote site to access an ip address that is not accessible via the internet, but is via our main site's local lan. My problem is that when the remote site tries to access the ip address, since it isn't on our main sites local subnet, the TL-R6000VPN sends the traffic out over the internet to find it instead of sending it over the VPN. I have added a static route on the TL-R6000VPN for the ip network range, but it still sends out the request over the internet. I have come to the conclusion that the TL-R6000VPN is too much of a low end VPN router that doesn't support sending multiple subnets over the VPN....

Network traveling internationally

Hello all,

In about a month, I have a team of 5 people traveling to Amsterdam. Is there away or some type of network equipment I can purchase, plug it into any Ethernet drop or wireless connection. we can copy data to it and deploy it and all users can easily access data and share date while in Amsterdam.

Anyone have done this before. Is it possible or is their a better way to setup a network for users to work internationally.
